What is CAD–CAM TECHNIQUE ? Computer aided designing and milling is a latest technology used in making crowns and bridges. This technique provides excellent fit and marginal integrity when compared to conventional ones.

TYPES OF MATERIAL USED IN MAKING CROWNS AND BRIDGE :

1. FULL METAL CROWN : It can be of silver or gold colour depending upon the metal used. Generally metal crowns are used rarely. They are used for back teeth where aesthetic is of less importance.
2. PFM CROWN : Porcelain fused crowns are ideally used crowns. it is a combination of metal and porcelain. Metal gives the strength and porcelain gives the aesthetics which resemble a natural tooth.
3. CERAMIC CROWN : They are best for aesthetics. It blends more naturally to natural tooth.
